  • What conditions does Dr. Xu help with?
    Dr. Sophia Xu diagnoses and treats all allergies, from food allergies to chronic asthma and itchy rashes. Her clinic offers a comprehensive testing, including patch testing for identifying rash triggers, skin prick testing for environmental allergies, and in-office lung function testing for asthma. The clinic also provides rapid penicillin testing. Food allergy treatments and follow up also provided.   • What is Dr.Xu's wait time ?
    Non-urgent appointments typically have a wait time of 2-4 weeks. To expedite your appointment, you may be scheduled with Dr. Xu's associate. If you specifically require Dr. Xu, please mention this when booking. For patients requiring an earlier appointment, please contact your family doctor. They will assess the urgency and expedite the referral if necessary.
  • How do I make an appointment with Dr. Xu?
    To schedule an appointment with Dr. Sophia Xu, patients require a referral from a doctor or nurse practitioner. A new referral is necessary for each individual medical concern, or if the patient has not been seen by Dr. Xu in the past 24 months. The referring doctors can fax a letter to Dr. Xu's office at 905-825-9830.
  • What happens at the allergist appointment?
    Patients are seen in-person by Dr. Xu. New patients may first participate in a phone interview with her clinical team. During the initial consultation, Dr. Xu conducts a thorough medical history review and physical examination. Allergy testing is performed when warranted to evaluate the underlying causes of symptoms. Testing may occur on the same day or at a follow-up visit. Results inform a personalized treatment plan tailored for the patient.
  • What should I bring to my visit?
    Please bring a current list of all prescription and over-the-counter medications. Additional instructions may also be provided by Dr. Xu's office prior to the visit.
